We are planning to come together to watch Pilgrimage to the Art Museum, An Evening with Author Stephen Auth on 23 May, see more details below and here.

Have you ever visited a museum and found the narrations in the self-guided-tour headsets a bit tedious? Slightly too clinical, perhaps? And have you ever noticed that God is rarely mentioned in art museums these days, unless in a cold, archaeological, “scientific” way? Well then you won't want to miss this event. Join author and art historian Stephen Auth for a guided tour through 5,000 years of Western art, as he talks about his new book, Pilgrimage to the Museum: Man's Search for God Through Art and Time. From Egypt’s Old Kingdom, through Greece and Rome, to medieval Europe; from the age of the Renaissance, to modern masterpieces by Monet and Picasso, Auth will offer illuminating insights and show how, time and again and throughout the centuries, Western art expresses humanity's quest for the divine. You will never look at a work of art the same way again.
