This brief talk will deal with the period and the personalities that came immediately after the Apostolic Age of the Church - the Age of the Fathers - and will address these issues: 1) What makes a Father? 2) Time, geography and language. 3) Theological concerns. 4) Legacy.

Speaker Bio: Father Boniface Ramsey, born in 1945 in New York, entered the Dominican Order after Providence College. Ordained in 1973, he earned a theology doctorate in 1983. He has taught at several universities and published works on the early Church. Since 2002, he has been the general editor of The Works of Saint Augustine: A Translation for the 21st Century—the first complete translation of the works of St. Augustine in English. He served as pastor of St. Vincent Ferrer and St. Joseph-Yorkville in New York and now resides at St. Rita’s Church in Long Island City.
